Tips for Better Living

Reach out to a friend today. Call someone you haven't talked to in a while. Don't let the years go by, letting your relationships float away like a leaf on a stream carried by life's currents.

Today my hubby and I went to a visitation, and tomorrow we'll go to the funeral for a friend from ages past. She died last Sunday, killed when the motorcycle she and her husband were on collided with an automobile. She is survived by her husband, their 2 daughters and 7 grandchildren. We hadn't seen them in at least a dozen years. Tragic, that.

Our prayers are with them.

This song comes to mind even though it may not entirely apply. It lifted my spirits to listen to it all the way through. Maybe because it causes me to reminisce about all of the friends I've known over the years. It makes me want to reach out and give each and every one of them a hug.

Sorry about your friend.

While I am not a long-time friend, I will hope for a hug, too. Here's a bribe: I want to send you a cd - with two songs perfect for remembering those who have gone-on ahead. E-mail me your address.

That was some good music by EJ. Barbara

I'm so sorry.

Thank you for the reminder that life is indeed short and we shouldn't hold back on the I love yous and the hugs.

Thinking of you...
