Monday Blueprint Madness

I looked online and found loads and loads of tools for designing stairs. I wish I had more detail on what went wrong here. Poor planning? Haphazard implementation? A disagreement gone awry (which usually leads to a communication breakdown)? Maybe a complete lack of blueprints - just a whimsical "Hey! I know! Let's put in a deck with an external staircase! Whatdya say?" Or were these in the original plans which were submitted and approved?

From 1 Kings 6 "In building the temple, only blocks dressed at the quarry were used, and no hammer, chisel or any other iron tool was heard at the temple site while it was being built. The entrance to the lowest floor was on the south side of the temple; a stairway led up to the middle level and from there to the third. So he built the temple and completed it.... The word of the LORD came to Solomon: 'As for this temple you are building, if you follow my decrees, carry out my regulations and keep all my commands and obey them, I will fulfill through you the promise I gave to David your father. And I will live among the Israelites and will not abandon my people Israel.' "

What would have happened if David's implementation of God's design had been haphazard? How many times I've regretted eagerly setting off to complete a job, then later realizing I'd not fully appreciated all aspects of the assignment.... We cannot afford to be haphazard in obeying God's commands. We need to make sure we measure twice before we cut. We should be prayerful in understanding God's will before waltzing into implementation.
Peace,

I'm happy to see my sitcom name stuck (previous post).

Have you ever seen or heard of the spiral staircase without nails? It is in a former-Catholic church in Santa Fe, NM. I saw it. Legend has it that the nuns who ran school at the parish were visited by a 'carpenter' who offered to do work. They needed a staircase to the choir loft, and he built it and left without being paid. The nuns believed they were visited by St. Joseph.

Oops! I have walked through lots of doors - thinking the opening is a sign from G-d. Well, I do try to be discerning. Good reminder today, Friend. Barbara
