Birds, bees, flowers and butterflies

Today I was blessed with an opportunity to spend a good bit of time immersed in God's kingdom. The monarch butterflies are migrating through my area on their way to Mexico. I normally focus on the flowers in my yard, but today I looked past the flowers, to the world they host.

I have to thank my middle-daughter "M" for teaching me to stop killing the flower-eating caterpillars so they can fulfill their purpose. Caterpillars become butterflies, and butterflies pollinate the flowers.

. Butterflies!

The zinnias can go to seed now, given how much cross-pollination took place today. Not only did we host a host of butterflies, but we sponsored other aspects of the cycle of life:

. Spiders, bees and others

I am in awe when I think about the power and the beauty. Praise God.

A wonderful post, thank you. I'm another butterfly-lover - and so is Edith, you might also enjoy her blog:

I'm a butterfly lover in New Zealand, far far away.

Keep up the good work!

Wow! You have someone in New Zealand enjoying your work! How cool is that? I'm glad that you are able to stop and enjoy the beauty of your back yard. I can't wait to have my own oasis . . .a friendship garden with donations from those who love me :)

Your back yard is an amazing place to be. I am so jealous! I loved your post on the cycle of life. I can totally picture the conversation from M. I remember pulling up to your driveway and seeing her butterflies all over her window.

I am truly blessed.
